Thanks to several new retailers, Koskikeskus’ service range has become more versatile this summer. Cafe Ståhlberg opened at the end of June. Finland's leading handicraft supplies outlet Sinooperi and Pelaamo, a gaming hall operated by the Finnish Slot Machine Association RAY, opened their doors on 12 August.
Another keenly anticipated newcomer will join the fold in the next few weeks: Finland's biggest ice cream parlour, Minetti. Strongly anchored in the history of Tampere, the Minetti brand has made a recent return to the streets of Tampere after a decades-long absence.
"Sinooperi, Pelaamo and Minetti are all bringing something completely new to Koskikeskus, while Cafe Ståhlberg is adding its own high-quality offering to our existing range of cafes", comments Mari Laaksonen, Commercial Director of Citycon.
Koskikeskus celebrated its 25th anniversary last winter. As well as its vast range of shops and services, the shopping centre’s strengths include attractive retailers and a growing selection of cafes and restaurants.
"Koskikeskus wants to continue being Tampere's first stop for fashion", says Laaksonen. "We are investing in a wide selection, covering the needs of different target groups, particularly young adults. Grocery stores and food-related services are still underrepresented. Much of our work this autumn will go into improving this segment.“
Koskikeskus actively negotiates with new retailers, and it is possible that a couple of other new shops will open in time for this year’s Christmas sales.
